Live Search Filter Options
The search options described are options of the geocaching.com API and affect the live search results returned from geocaching.com servers.
Disable Filtering
Filtering is disabled by default, and must be enabled in order for search filtering to be applied.
Search by Cache Name
Allows the text field in to be used to search for cache names. This option has a search radius of 100 miles, or 160 kilometers.
Exclude My Finds
Your finds will be excluded from search results.
Exclude My Hides
Your hides will be excluded from search results.
Exclude Corrected Coordinates
Caches with corrected coordinates will not be shown.
Has Corrected Coordinates
Only caches with corrected coordinates will be shown.
Not hidden by username(s)
A comma-separated list of usernames, exclude hides from these users.
Hidden by username(s)
A comma-separated list of usernames, only caches hidden by these users will be returned.
Found by username(s)
A comma-separated list of usernames used to only return caches that those users have found.
Not found by username(s)
A comma-separated list of usernames used to only return caches that those users have not found.
Container Size
Some or all sizes can be chosen and will be used to limit search results.
Cache Type
Some or all cache types can be chosen and will be used to limit search results.
Attributes
Choose some attributes to filter by.
Difficulty
Option to only return caches with the specified difficulty range.
Terrain
Option to only return caches with the specified terrain range.
Favorites Minimum
Minimum number of favorite points that returned caches should have.
US State
Choosing a US State will limit the search results to only that state.
Country
Choosing a country will limit the search results to only that country.
Cache Placed
Setting the start and end dates will limit returned caches to being placed within that range.
Cache Published
Setting the start and end dates will limit returned caches to being published within that range. Note: The range is limited to 30 days.
US State
Choose one US State to restrict filtering to.
Country
Choose one Country to restrict filtering to.
Sorting
Sorting setting lets you change how the caches returned by a search are ordered. Options to sort on are distance, cache name, difficulty, favorites, found date, placed date, size and terrain. The default is to sort by Distance Ascending.
Enabled Only
Only Active caches will be shown.
Exclude Enabled
Only inactive caches will be shown.
Premium Only
Only premium caches will be shown if the current logged in user is a Premium Member.
Exclude Premium
Premium caches will not be shown.
Has Cache Note
Only caches with personal notes will be shown.
Exclude Cache Note
Caches with personal notes will not be shown.
Use Map Bounds in Search
This option limits search results to only the area within the map that you see on screen. Any caches outside of that will not be returned in the search results.
Ignore Map Location
Do a search with no center coordinates.
